Our Work

How we care for children

Today we care for 45 children through orphan care, sickle cell support and food outreach, and we are building a school and a borehole for clean water. Each one meets a real need, and each one is an act of love.

Orphan Care

A safe home and a family who cares

Some children have lost one or both parents. Others live with relatives who love them but cannot afford to feed them or send them to school. We step in so that every child has what they need to grow up healthy, safe and loved.

  • Safe housing and loving caregivers
  • Three meals a day
  • School fees, uniforms and books
  • Medical care and regular check-ups
  • Bible teaching, mentoring and life skills

Sickle Cell Support

Standing with children through every crisis

Sickle cell disease is common in Uganda. It causes severe pain, infections and tiredness, and without regular care it can be life threatening. Medicine, good food and quick treatment make a huge difference, but many families simply cannot afford them.

  • Daily medication such as folic acid and pain relief
  • Nutritious food parcels for families
  • Transport to hospital during a crisis
  • Help with clinic and hospital costs
  • Home visits, prayer and support for parents

Food Outreach

A warm meal and a reason to hope

In the poorest urban communities, hunger is part of daily life for many children. Our outreach days bring people together around a hot meal. We listen, we pray and we look for ways to help families stand on their own feet.

  • Hot meals for children
  • Food parcels for struggling families
  • Clean drinking water at every outreach
  • Prayer and encouragement
  • Connecting families with local churches and services

Current Projects

What we are building now

Alongside our daily care for children, we are working on two projects that will serve our community for years to come.

Building a school

Many of the children we care for walk long distances to school, or cannot go at all. We are building a school close to home, where they can learn in a safe place, eat a good meal and be known by teachers who care.

  • Safe, solid classrooms
  • A place to learn close to home
  • A meal and a caring teacher for every child

A borehole for clean water

Without clean water close by, families drink unsafe water and children, often girls, spend hours fetching it instead of learning. A borehole will give the children, the school and the families around it safe water every day.

  • Safe drinking water close to home
  • Less sickness from dirty water
  • More time in school, less time carrying water
